PROJECT BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE Following one of Darlene’s charming, 8” patterns of bird and leaf shapes, learn to prepare for hand needle turn appliqué and perfect your stitches. Lesson covers basic stems, circles, and template pieces. A kit is used to make the preparation for the class easy and the class time more efficient.
$8.00 KIT INCLUDES: Pattern and all fabrics, some pins and a needle. Printed freezer paper - ready to use. Mettler 60/2 threads for use during class. Fabrics will vary.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Thimble and misc. hand sewing tools. Small - sharp 4" embroidery scissors for fabrics and threads, small Fiskars chisel point paper scissors, 1 sheet [new 8-1/2” x 11”] fine sandpaper or sandpaper board, VERITHIN silver art pencil, any mechanical pencil. OPTIONAL: small metal sharpener. Mettler 60/2 cotton threads in color #700 and #781
CLASS ROOM SET UP: One iron and board for every 6 to 8 students, ample lighting & table space for each student, two 8’ tables and four extra chairs for the instructor where possible. Can the room be darkened for a Power Point presentation? Is there a white wall?

Darlene may offer a few items for sale during class such as books, patterns, pencils, sharpeners, pins and needles and thread packs when available and appropriate. No percentage of sales will be taken by the hiring party. Quilt shops are welcome to discuss consignment options.
